Welcome to your March Challenge!

The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.

Challenge Yourself

Finding your rhythm begins with setting a goal. Stride for health by creating a foundation and building upon it.  One exercise at a time, one milestone at a time.  Here at Texan Foundation, we believe the key to a healthy heart starts with diet and exercise.  So let's all challenge ourselves to find our rhythm by getting that daily dose of exercise and fueling our bodies properly. 


Join us every month for a new challenge and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to post your progress, videos, and results.

March - Step Challenge

Let's get the month started on the right foot!


This month's challenge is to walk 5,000 steps a day!  Are you new to walking for exercise or don't have time to dedicate?  Start slow, create weekly goals, work towards them and build up!

  • Week 1 - 1,500 steps a day
  • Week 2 - 3,000 steps a day
  • Week 3 - 4,000 steps a day
  • Week 4 - 5,000 steps a day

For those more advanced walkers, shoot to double the weekly goals!  The key is to get out there and get active no matter your fitness level.

April - Squat Challenge

Performing squats throughout the day, especially after eating, has tons of benefits.  If you are a diabetic, performing squats throughout the day can help lower your blood sugar levels.  Additionally, squats get the heart pumping and gives you an energy boost!

May - Push-up Challenge

Doing push-ups daily not only strengthens your chest, shoulders, triceps, and core, but it also increases your cardiovascular endurance.  Who knew?


Start practicing now, we will shower down the details in May!

June - Lunges Challenge

Need a little improvement in your balance, stability, and core strength?  May's challenge is waiting just for you!

July - Plank Challenge

Planking isn't just a social media phenomenon from the early 2000s. This exercise is also used to strengthen your core, back muscles, and shoulders.  Additional benefits include improved posture and stability. 


Let's restart this social media phenomenon for July's challenge with the routine we have in store for you!

August - Jumping Jacks Challenge

Time to step up the intensity a little bit!  Jumping jacks are a classic exercise that are easy to perform, but come with tons of benefits for heart health.


Come back in August for this oldie but goodie!

September - Burpee Challenge

Ready for that full-body workout that has your heart pumping from start to finish?

October - Sit-up Challenge

We don't know a single person who likes sit-ups. But benefits include reducing back pain, strengthening abdominal, hip and lower back muscles.

November - Squat Hold Challenge

Remember the Plank Challenge back in June? Well, squat holds are the equivalent of planks for your legs!  Let's reinforce the stability we have gained over the months while building more strength and endurance!

November - Heart Sync Run

Welcome to November!  You've been building yourself up and are ready to join our Heart Sync Run! Make sure to sign up and we will see you at the starting line.

December - Jumping Rope Challenge

Just like jumping jacks, jumping rope is another classic exercise.  Jumping rope requires minimal equipment, builds endurance, timing, and improves cardiovascular health.
